Yes, our wine lockers are designed so that you can outfit them with custom shelves and racks. Before attaching any storage apparatus, speak with one of our storage experts for advice and permission. This level of customization allows you the freedom to design and create the best wine storage unit to house any size collection inside our facility.
What type of security do you offer for wine storage?
We feature computerized gate access that allows valid and authorized customers through the security gate, individual alarms on select units, and security cameras.
What is the best temperature for wine storage?
For red wines, the ideal wine storage temperature is 55 degrees Fahrenheit (13 degrees Celsius). This temperature allows red wines to age and mature more gradually. When it comes to white wines, store them at temperatures between 53 and 57 degrees Fahrenheit (12 to 14 degrees Celsius). The right temperature will keep white wines from aging prematurely or losing their fruity aromas.

Storing wine isn’t just about temperature. Make sure to also keep humidity levels at around 60% to 70%.
How much does wine storage cost?

Can you keep unopened wine in a storage unit?
We strongly recommend against storing wine in a non-climate-controlled storage unit. Temperatures in a unit without climate control can fluctuate significantly, prematurely aging your wine or damaging its flavor. Hot conditions can also dry out corks and lead to oxidation, which will ruin your wine.

If you do decide to rent a storage unit for your wine, always choose a climate-controlled wine storage unit.
Does light affect wine storage?
Yes. Light (especially UV light) can actually damage your stored wine. UV rays from sunlight or fluorescent lighting can cause a “light strike” on wine, which can prematurely age the wine and lead to off-flavors and aromas.

We recommend always storing your wine in a dark environment such as a cellar, closet, or a climate-controlled storage unit without windows.
